Shop from categories and defaults—not a color-coded spreadsheet that needs its own manager.

A category list protects your energy while still leaving room for what sounds good.

Use a repeatable skeleton

Instead of inventing a weekly menu from scratch, shop a stable set of categories. You can still make changes, but the baseline does the remembering for you.

The five-part list

A low-effort cart often has one or two choices from each part.

  • Ready-to-heat mains
  • Fast bases: bread, rice, pasta, tortillas
  • Produce with no washing or chopping assignment
  • Sauces and flavor shortcuts
  • One backup meal from the freezer

Keep a running add list

Put one shared note where everyone can add the things they finished. This does not solve all household logistics. It does stop the repeated discovery that nobody bought coffee again.
